Starting on Sunday August 30th at 9pm in Cagliari.
Cagliari will host Concordia Vocis, the continuation of a fascinating journey into the world of choral music, a journey in search of the most profound cultural-anthropological vibes in contrast with the world of globalisation and the “large events” in which special effects prevail.
The 2009 edition once again confirms the high artistic levels of the previous editions expressed in such a captivating music context as to be acknowledged as one of the venues of particular international renown. Cagliari will host the vast majority of the musical performances, although other cultural organisations throughout the island, such as in Tortolì and Iglesias, will be involved in the event.
The 18th edition is also the conveyor of important news for the city of Cagliari: the Basilica of Saint Saturnino, one of the most important Paleo-Christian monuments throughout Sardinia, will be restored to its previous glory and act as the prestigious background to the majority of concerts. The Basilica, together with the architectural charm of the newly restored Basilica di Santa Croce, will constitute a highly evocative setting for the Festival and the voices playing a key role in this exciting edition.
